The National Association of State
Energy Officials (NASEO) was created
by the nation’s Governors as an
“instrumentality of the states” to
improve the effectiveness and
quality of state energy programs and
policies. For more than a decade,
NASEO has provided leadership on
energy issues and serves as the
Washington voice of state and
territorial energy offices to help
set energy priorities at the Federal
level.
The fifty-six state and territorial
energy offices that comprise NASEO’s
membership together spend hundreds
of millions of dollars per year on
energy projects that range from
improving efficiency in residential,
commercial, industrial, and
government buildings, to fostering
efficient energy production
technologies, to promoting wind,
solar and biomass projects. Other
NASEO initiatives include energy
emergencies and security,
energy-environmental integration,
and fuel supply.
A company’s or institution’s
contribution to NASEO helps provide
funding to support NASEO’s
educational, communication and state
assistance programs. The NASEO
Affiliate Members Program promotes
the exchange of ideas between member
companies, associations and
institutions, and state energy
directors and officials offering
unparalleled access and dialogue on
topics of mutual interest.
